In short
When you pay, the money is held in Payment Secured until you approve the work. Once released, the seller's earnings stay Pending for 14 days before they can be withdrawn. Refunds go to your Belancer Balance at once, or to your original payment method if you ask.
Closed beta text. Belancer's lawyer in Bangladesh reviews this policy before public launch.
Payment Secured
When a client pays for an order, a milestone, a week of hourly work or a consultation, the money is held in Payment Secured in the order's currency. It is kept in a separate account, apart from Belancer's own money. The seller sees that the order is funded before starting.
When money is released
- The client approves the delivery or the milestone.
- A gig order auto-completes 3 days after delivery if the client neither approves nor asks for changes. We remind the client before this happens.
- A milestone is approved automatically 7 days after it is submitted, unless the client responds.
- A dispute is decided.
At release, the Belancer fee is taken and the rest moves to the seller's Pending balance in the same currency.
Pending, then Available
Released money stays Pending for 14 days. During that time the client can still raise an issue, and that money is frozen until the case ends. After the Pending period it becomes Available and can be withdrawn. A change to the Pending period applies only to new releases.
Refunds
- A refund goes to the client's Belancer Balance at once, in the order's currency, ready for the next order.
- The client can ask for the original payment method instead; this takes 3 to 10 days, depending on the payment provider.
- Partial refunds (for example after a dispute) are split exactly, with nothing lost to rounding.
- Belancer's fee is not charged on refunded money.
Currencies
Payments, holds, releases and refunds stay in the order's currency. Taka and US dollars are never mixed or converted, except when a seller chooses to convert their own USD balance to Taka.
Chargebacks
If a payment is reversed by the bank or card provider, the related money is frozen while we look into it. Abuse of chargebacks can close an account.
