A custom offer is a price and scope made just for one buyer. Open the conversation in Messages and choose Create an offer (or answer a buyer's request with Create an offer). Pick the gig it's based on, write what's included, set the price, delivery time, revisions and expiry, check You'll receive, and choose Send offer. The buyer can accept and pay, ask for changes, or decline.
Before you start
- At least one live gig. See create a gig.
- Agree the details in chat first, so the offer matches what the buyer expects.
- Know the buyer's currency; the offer is always in it.
Steps
1Open the conversation
Go to Messages and open the chat with the buyer. If they asked for an offer, you see "the buyer asked you for a custom offer" with their need, budget, date and files.
2Choose Create an offer
The Create an offer for form opens. If it came from a request, it's partly filled in.
3Choose your gig and title
Under Based on your gig, choose a live gig. Give the offer a clear Offer title, for example "Logo and mini brand kit".
4Describe the scope
In Scope and What's included, list exactly what you'll deliver: items, sizes, formats, number of concepts. Clear scope prevents disputes later.
5Set payment, price and time
Under How will the buyer pay? choose the payment shape offered, for example Single payment. Enter the Price in the buyer's currency (at least the minimum), choose Delivery (at least 2 days) and Revisions.
6Set the expiry and check your earnings
Choose Offer expires in (default 3 days). The form shows the Belancer fee and You'll receive.
7Send
Choose Send offer. The offer card appears in the chat with "Expires in".
What happens next
- Accepted: the buyer chooses Accept & pay. The money is held as Payment Secured and an order starts at the locked price. The buyer then sends requirements.
- Changes asked: the buyer suggests a price, delivery or a note. Choose Revise offer to send v2; the card shows What changed and v1 is marked Replaced.
- Declined or expired: nothing is charged. You can send a new offer.
Troubleshooting
- "Publish a gig to send offers." You need a live gig first.
- "The offer must be in the buyer's currency." The price field already uses it; don't type the other currency.
- "The price is below the minimum." Raise it to at least the minimum for that currency.
- "One open offer per chat." Revise or withdraw the current offer before sending a new one.
- Too many changes in a short time. You can send up to 3 new versions an hour in one chat.
- "Verify your email first, then send the offer." Confirm your email, then try again.
Good to know
- Withdraw any time before acceptance: choose Withdraw on the card. The buyer can no longer accept it.
- Terms are locked once sent. Any change creates a new version, so both sides always see exactly what was agreed.
- No self-offers. You can't send offers to yourself, your agency or your company.
- Contact details are hidden in offer text, like everywhere on Belancer.
Tip: Reply to offer requests within 24 hours. Fast replies win more orders and protect your response rate.
Note: During an open order, use an extra instead of a new custom offer to add scope. See more time, extras and questions.
