Belancer keeps your paperwork in one place: Statements and invoices. Freelancers get a monthly statement for each currency they earned in, showing opening balance, earnings, Belancer fees, refunds, conversions, withdrawals and closing balance. Clients get an invoice for every payment, with any refunds as credit notes. Everything comes straight from the Belancer ledger, so the figures always match your balance.
Before you start
- Statements appear after a month in which money moved in your Belancer Balance.
- For company invoices, add the company's legal name, address and BIN or VAT number in Company settings first.
Steps
1Open Statements and invoices
From the account menu choose Statements and invoices. Tabs: Statements, Invoices, Earnings certificate.
2Freelancers: read your statements
Statements shows "This year so far" per currency ("Earned after Belancer fees") and a table of Monthly statements: month, earned after fees, withdrawn, balance at month end. Choose View to open one.
3Read a monthly statement
A statement shows, for one currency:
- Balance at the start of the month
- Earned for your work, Belancer fees, given back to clients
- Refunds and top-ups received, withdrawals, USD to BDT conversions, corrections by Belancer
- Balance at the end of the month, of which Pending and Available
Choose Download PDF or Download CSV.
4Clients: find your invoices
Invoices shows what you paid, what came back and what's held now, per currency. Filter by Currency and Status (Paid, Partly refunded, Refunded). Under Whose billing, switch between Personal and a company.
5Open and download an invoice
An invoice shows its number, the item (for example gig order, milestone, hourly week, consultation), Belancer service fee, VAT if included, Total paid, the payment method and any Credit notes (refunds). Choose Download PDF.
What happens next
If a statement is corrected, a new version replaces it and the old one shows "A newer version of this statement exists". Statement PDFs can be checked by anyone at belancer.com/verify.
Troubleshooting
- "No statements yet." Your first statement appears after a month with money movement ends.
- "You can't see this company's billing." You're not a member with billing access.
- The company name is missing on my invoice. Add the legal name and address in Company settings and ask us to re-issue it.
- Totals don't match my bank. Statements are in the original currency; your bank may show converted or net amounts.
Good to know
- Numbering: BDT and USD invoices have separate number series.
- Operator: invoices say which Belancer company operates the service for your currency.
- Tax: Belancer documents show fees and any VAT. Your own income tax is your responsibility.
Tip: Download your statements each month and keep them with your bank records. It makes tax time and loan applications easier.
Note: For a single signed proof of income, use the earnings certificate instead of many statements.
Questions and answers
When is my monthly statement ready?
On day 1 of the next month (Dhaka time). We email you when it's ready.
Why are BDT and USD on separate statements?
Belancer never adds the two currencies together. Each currency gets its own statement, invoices and totals.
Can a bank check my statement?
Yes. Each statement PDF has a verification code that anyone can check at belancer.com/verify.
Can I change an invoice after it's issued?
No. Invoices are never edited. A refund creates a credit note linked to the invoice, and missing company details can be added and the invoice re-issued.
Why don't I see all my company's invoices?
Members see what they paid for the company. The owner, admins and finance see all of its invoices.
Is VAT shown?
If VAT applies to Belancer's fee, it's shown on the invoice as included in the fee.
