To post a project, choose Post a project and follow five steps: Basics, Scope, Type & budget, Add-ons and Review. Then choose Post project. Posting is free. Right after posting, Belancer shows freelancers matched to your project so you can invite them in one tap, and proposals start arriving.
Before you start
- A Belancer account. Clients don't need the ID check.
- If you hire for a company, switch Acting as to the company first.
- Have ready: what you need done, any files, your budget and when you need it.
Steps
1Basics
Choose Post as: Personal or your Company. Type a sentence in Describe it in a sentence and choose Draft with AI to get a suggested title and story, or write your own. Add a Project title (5 to 80 characters), Category, Subcategory and optional Service type.
2Scope
Write the Project story (at least 80 characters): the goal, what you'll provide, what you expect delivered, and how you'll judge success. Add Skills needed (up to 10), Files (up to 5, 25 MB each) and up to 5 Questions for freelancers.
3Type & budget
Pick a Project type:
- Fixed price: choose a Budget range preset or Custom minimum and maximum. Paid by milestone.
- Hourly: set the hourly rate range, Estimated total hours and a Weekly hour limit ("You never pay for more than this").
- Remote · Monthly: monthly budget, hours per week, working time zone, overlap, start date and notice period.
4Add-ons (optional)
Add-ons help you get better proposals: Featured, Urgent, NDA, IP assignment, Sealed, Private (invite only) and Belancer Recruiter. Each shows its price in your currency, or Coming soon if it isn't open yet.
5Review and post
Check everything and use Edit on any section. Choose Post project (or Pay … and post if you chose paid add-ons).
What happens next
You see Your project is live (or Your project is in review for a quick check). Belancer shows matched freelancers and gigs labelled Matched by Belancer, with "Why this match". Choose Invite on anyone you like, add an Invite message, then See proposals as they arrive. See invite freelancers.
Troubleshooting
- "Switch to your company in the account menu first." To post as a company, change Acting as.
- "Your role can't post projects." Ask your company owner or admin to change your role.
- Story too short. Add details: deliverables, examples, deadline.
- A file wasn't added. Use JPG, PNG, WEBP, PDF, MP4 or MKV within the size limit.
- "Belancer asked for changes before this goes live." Open the project, read the reason, fix and resend with Fix and resend.
- Contact details removed. Phone numbers, emails and outside links aren't allowed in projects.
Good to know
- Not sure how to hire or what it should cost? Choose Let Belancer manage it and a project manager runs it for you. See managed projects.
- Drafts save automatically and appear under My projects › Drafts.
- Type can't change after proposals arrive, so pick carefully.
Tip: The best project stories answer three questions: what's the goal, what does "done" look like, and what's the deadline.
Note: Proposal credits are paid by freelancers, not by you. You never pay to receive proposals.
Questions and answers
Is posting a project free?
Yes. Posting is free. Optional add-ons, such as Featured or NDA, are paid separately when they're available.
What's the difference between Fixed price, Hourly and Remote monthly?
Fixed price pays per milestone for a defined result. Hourly pays for approved weekly hours. Remote monthly is a dedicated freelancer billed each month.
Why is my project 'In review'?
A new client's first project, or anything flagged, gets a quick check by our team before going live.
Can I change the budget later?
Yes. You can change the budget, story and skills; freelancers who already proposed are told. The project type and currency can't change after proposals arrive.
Which currency is my budget in?
Your account currency: BDT for Bangladesh, USD elsewhere. For a company, its registered country decides.
How long does a project stay open?
It closes automatically after 30 days without a hire. We warn you before, and you can extend it.
