How to become a seller on Belancer (freelancer setup step by step).

To become a seller, open the account menu and choose Become a seller. You complete five short steps (About you, What you do, Show your work, Rate & availability, Verify & get paid), verify your phone, and pass the ID check. When your profile reaches 70% with a verified phone and a portfolio project, it goes live, and once your ID is approved you can publish gigs, send proposals and withdraw.

Before you start

• You must be a Bangladeshi citizen living in Bangladesh, with an account country of Bangladesh.
• Have ready: a clear profile photo, a few lines about yourself, one example of your work, and your NID, passport or birth registration certificate.
• Use the name on your ID. Your name comes from your account and is locked in the setup, because payouts must match your ID.

Steps

1Start the setup

Choose Become a seller from the account menu or the Become a seller page. If you see Selling isn't open for your account yet, your account country is not Bangladesh or you can't pass the ID rules; you can still Explore as a client.

2Personal

Add a Profile photo and write About me (at least 150 characters): who you are, what you do best and who you help. Add the languages you speak. An Intro video is optional and doesn't change your score.

3Professional

Choose your category and sub-category, add a Professional title (for example "Video Editor") and your years of experience. Add between 3 and 15 Skills, each with a level.

4Portfolio

Add at least one project with a title, pictures or files and a few lines about what you did. Three or more projects score higher. This step is required to go live.

5Rate & availability

Set two hourly rates: ৳ BDT rate for clients in Bangladesh and $ USD rate for clients abroad. They are separate and never converted. Then pick your availability: Full-time, Part-time or Weekends.

6Experience & credentials (optional)

Add work experience, education and certificates, and link your other profiles privately. You can skip this step and come back later, but it adds to your profile strength.

7Verification

Verify your email and phone, then complete the ID check. See verify your phone number and ID check.

What happens next

You see You're live with your next step: Create your first gig. Your setup saves automatically; you can choose Save & exit and continue later from Continue setup. If you stop for a while, we send one reminder email.

Troubleshooting

• Stuck at "Almost there". Check the missing item shown: usually phone verification or a portfolio project.
• "Selling needs a Bangladeshi ID and address." You need a Bangladeshi document and a Bangladeshi address with a Bangladeshi phone number.
• I can't change my name. Your name is locked to your account and ID. Contact support if it's wrong.
• "We couldn't save." Nothing is lost; we retry automatically. Check your connection.

Good to know

• Profile strength: 70% makes you live, 90% gives a boost in search, and 100% makes you eligible for Handpicked badges. See complete your profile.
• Your private details stay private. Phone, email, address, ID documents and date of birth are never public. Only verification ticks show.
• You keep one account. If you also hire, you do it from the same account by switching to the client view.

Tip: Clients decide in seconds. A friendly photo, a clear title and one strong portfolio project make the biggest difference.
