Hiring on Belancer

How to request a custom offer and accept, change or decline it

In short. Need something a gig's packages don't cover? Ask the seller for a custom offer, then accept and pay, ask for changes with your own price, or decline. It takes 5 steps: Open the request form; Describe what you need; Wait for the offer; Decide; Compare a new version.

On this page

If a gig's packages don't fit, ask the seller for a custom offer. On the gig page choose Contact and the Custom offer tab, or in a chat choose Request an offer. Describe what you need, add an optional budget, date and files, and send. When the offer arrives, choose Accept & pay, Ask for changes or Decline.

Before you start

  • A Belancer account with a verified email.
  • A clear list of what you need: deliverables, sizes or quantities, deadline and examples.

Steps

1Open the request form

From the gig page, choose Contact, then the Custom offer tab. Or open your conversation with the seller in Messages and choose Request an offer.

2Describe what you need

In What do you need?, explain the work. Add a Budget range (optional), a Needed by date and up to 5 files. Choose Send request. You see "Request sent".

3Wait for the offer

The seller answers in the chat. The offer card shows the title, what's included, Price, Delivery, Revisions, payment type and Expires in.

4Decide

  • Accept & pay: go to checkout, pay, then send your requirements. See buy a gig.
  • Ask for changes: write what should change, and optionally a Suggested price and Suggested delivery. Choose Send. "Nothing is charged until you accept."
  • Decline: choose Decline offer, with an optional reason.

5Compare a new version

If the seller revises, you get v2 with What changed showing old and new values. The older version shows Replaced. Accept the new one or ask again.

What happens next

When you accept and pay, the money is held as Payment Secured and the order starts at the locked price. If the offer expires or you decline, nothing is charged; you can choose Ask for a new offer any time.

Troubleshooting

  • "Tell the seller what you need." The need field is required.
  • "The lowest amount is above the highest." Fix your budget range.
  • "Pick a date from today on." The needed-by date can't be in the past.
  • The offer expired. Choose Ask for a new offer.
  • I can't send more messages to new sellers today. New clients can start a limited number of new conversations a day (10). Try tomorrow, or reply in existing chats.
  • "Verify email." Confirm your email address first.

Good to know

  • Negotiation rounds are limited to 3 new versions an hour per chat, to keep things calm.
  • Offers are locked once sent; any change is a new version, so you always know exactly what you're accepting.
  • Company buyers: choose Acting as your company first, so the offer and invoice go to the company.

Tip: Mention your budget honestly. Sellers can suggest what fits it, and you avoid back-and-forth.

Important: Never accept an offer to pay "directly" by bKash or bank to the seller. Only payments through Belancer are protected.

Questions and answers

Does requesting an offer cost anything?

No. Nothing is charged until you accept an offer and pay.

Can I suggest my own price?

Yes. Choose Ask for changes and enter a suggested price and delivery time with a note. The seller can send a new version.

How long is a custom offer valid?

Usually 3 days, unless the seller set a different expiry. After that it expires and nothing is charged.

What happens to older versions of an offer?

They stay in the chat marked Replaced. Only the newest version can be accepted.

Can I have two offers open with the same seller?

No. There's one open offer per conversation at a time.

What currency is the offer in?

Your account currency. Sellers can't send you an offer in a different currency.
