How reviews work on Belancer (double-blind, both ways)

In short. After an order or contract ends, clients and freelancers review each other. Reviews stay hidden until both are in or the window closes, so they're honest. It takes 5 steps: Open the review; Rate the work; Write a public review (optional); Give private feedback (optional); Submit.

When work ends, Belancer asks both sides for a review. The client rates the freelancer and the freelancer rates the client. Reviews are double-blind: each stays hidden until both are submitted or 14 days pass, then both appear together. This keeps reviews honest, because nobody can answer a bad review with revenge.

Before you start

  • The order must be completed, the contract ended, or the call finished. Cancelled orders don't get reviews.
  • Have a moment to think: reviews can't be edited after sending.

Steps

1Open the review

You get an email and a notification, and the order page shows Leave a review. Reminders come on days 3,10 if you haven't reviewed yet.

2Rate the work

Clients rate Overall stars, then Communication and Service as described, and answer Would you hire them again?

Freelancers rate the client's Communication and Clear requirements, and answer Would you work with them again?

3Write a public review (optional)

Describe what went well and what could be better, in up to 1500 characters. Be fair and specific. Don't include personal details.

4Give private feedback (optional)

Give a private score from 1 to 5 for their work overall. Only Belancer sees this; it never shows publicly and isn't shared with the other person.

5Submit

Choose Submit review. You see "Waiting for the other side" until both are in or the window closes.

Writing and submitting a review

What happens next

Both reviews appear at the same time on profiles and on the order page. The freelancer can add one public reply. Reviews feed the freelancer's rating, job success and badges.

Troubleshooting

  • "The review window closed." Reviews can only be left within 14 days.
  • "Pick 1 to 5 stars" / "Pick yes or no." Fill in every required question.
  • I think a review is fake or breaks the rules. Choose Report this review. It's hidden while staff check it. See report a profile, gig or message.
  • The order was decided by Belancer. You can still review; it's labelled "This order was resolved by Belancer".

Good to know

  • Agency orders: the review counts for both the agency and the member who delivered.
  • Clients' public reviews of freelancers show with the client's name and country; freelancers' ratings of clients are seen only by other sellers.
  • One review per side per order or contract.

Tip: Freelancers: a short, thankful public reply to every review, even a mixed one, shows future clients you're professional.

Important: Asking for a 5-star review in exchange for a discount, refund or extra is against the rules and can lead to a strike.

Questions and answers

When can I leave a review?

After a gig order completes, a contract ends or a consultation finishes. You have 14 days.

Why can't I see the other person's review?

Reviews are double-blind: both stay hidden until both of you submit, or the review window ends. Then both appear at once.

Can I edit my review?

No. You can't change it after you send it, so take a moment before you submit.

Who sees the seller's rating of a client?

Only other sellers, when that client contacts them or asks for an offer. It's never public.

Can a seller reply to a review?

Yes, once, publicly, after the reviews are revealed.

Can a seller offer a refund for a good review?

No. Reviews can't be bought with refunds, discounts or extras. Report anyone who asks.
