How to change your email, phone number or password on Belancer
In short. Change your password with Forgot password, swap an unverified phone during freelancer set-up, and ask support to change your email or a verified phone. It takes 3 steps: Change your password; Fix a phone number you haven't verified yet; Ask us to change your email or a verified phone.

Change your password in Settings › Security (see change your password). A Settings screen for changing your email and phone is coming soon. Until then: fix an unverified phone number during freelancer set-up, and ask our team to change your email or a verified phone. We check it's really you before changing anything.
Before you start
- Access to your email inbox (for password codes).
- For a phone change: access to the new phone.
- Freelancers: plan around withdrawals. A password reset pauses withdrawals and payout-account changes for a while.
Steps
1Change your password
Open the Sign in page (sign out first if it takes you to your dashboard) and choose Forgot password? Type your email and choose Send code, then follow reset your password. Saving the new password signs out your other devices.
2Fix a phone number you haven't verified yet
In freelancer set-up, open Verify your phone. If the saved number is wrong, choose Use a different number, type the right Bangladesh mobile number and enter the SMS code. See verify your phone number.
3Ask us to change your email or a verified phone
At the bottom of any help page, under Still stuck?, choose Send us a message. Pick My account, say which email or number should change and to what, and send. We reply by email and may ask you to confirm with a code before we change it.
What happens next
- You get an email about every change to your password.
- Freelancers: withdrawals and payout-account changes pause for 24 hours after a password reset. The Balance page shows when they open again.
Troubleshooting
- "This number is used by another account." Each number can belong to one account only.
- Wrong code. Use the newest code; older ones stop working.
- My phone is verified and I need a new one. Send us a message with the topic My account.
- I didn't make a change. Reset your password straight away and check devices and sign-ins.
Good to know
- Coming soon: changing your email and phone yourself from Settings › Security, with a code to the new address and an undo link to the old one.
- Your email and phone are private. They're never shown publicly; only verification ticks appear on your profile.
Important: Belancer never asks you to change your email or phone over chat or a call. If someone asks, report them.

Where do I change my email or phone?
A settings screen for this is coming soon. Today, send us a message from the help centre (topic My account) and we'll change it after checking it's you.
How do I change my password while signed in?
Open Settings › Security and use the Password card, or use Forgot password? on the Sign in page if you forgot it. See change your password.
I typed the wrong phone number in freelancer set-up. Can I fix it?
Yes, before it's verified. On Verify your phone, choose Use a different number and type the right one.
Why are withdrawals paused after I changed my password?
For freelancers, withdrawals and payout-account changes pause for 24 hours after a password reset, to protect your earnings.
Can I change my name?
Freelancers can't change their name here because it must match the ID check. Contact support if your legal name changed.
