The Acceptable Use and Off-platform Contact Policy is the code of conduct for everyone on Belancer. In short: keep work, talk and payments on Belancer, be honest, and respect other people. This article explains it in plain words. The binding text is the Acceptable Use and Off-platform Contact Policy page.

Before you start

  • These rules apply to clients, freelancers, agencies and companies alike.
  • Belancer hides contact details automatically. See contact details hidden.

Steps

1Stay on Belancer

Until an order is finished, talk, share files and pay only on Belancer. Don't share phone numbers, emails, messaging handles or payment details to move a deal elsewhere, and don't ask others to.

2Know what's not allowed

  • Fake accounts, more than one seller account, or using someone else's identity.
  • Scams, phishing, asking for passwords or one-time codes.
  • Fake or swapped reviews, and paying for reviews.
  • Work that breaks the law or other people's rights, including copied work.
  • Hate, harassment, threats, and adult or violent content.
  • Spam, and sending the same proposal or message to many people.

3Know the strike ladder

  • A first strike is a warning.
  • At 2 strikes, the account is limited for 7 days.
  • 3 strikes start a suspension review.
  • A strike expires after 180 days.

4Report what you see

Use Report on any profile, gig, project, message or review. Reports are private. See report a profile, gig or message.

5Appeal if needed

Appeal a strike or limit from the notice or Account health. A different staff member reviews it.

What happens next

Most issues end with a warning. Repeated or serious breaches lead to restrictions or suspension, always decided by a person. Open orders and money you've earned are protected unless there's a fraud or safety hold.

Troubleshooting

  • My message was masked. Contact details are hidden automatically; that alone isn't a strike.
  • My gig was removed. The message says which rule and links the policy. Fix it, or appeal.
  • I got a strike I think is wrong. Appeal within the window. See strikes and restrictions.

Good to know

  • One rulebook for everyone: the same rules apply to clients and freelancers, and to agency and company members acting for their account.
  • Allowed links: belancer.com and trusted work sites. Others are hidden.
  • AI and automated checks only flag things; people decide strikes and suspensions.
  • Older versions of the policy stay readable on the legal page.

Note: This article is a guide. The policy page is the binding text.

Tip: When in doubt, keep it on Belancer and keep it honest. That covers almost every rule.

Questions and answers

Why can't I take a client off Belancer?

Off Belancer there's no Payment Secured, no reviews and no dispute help, so neither side is protected. Moving deals elsewhere breaks this policy.

Can I have a second account?

No fake accounts and no more than one seller account per person.

Can I ask a client for a good review in exchange for a discount?

No. Reviews can't be bought, swapped or traded for discounts.

What happens if I break a rule?

Usually a warning first, then strikes. 3 strikes start a suspension review. Serious cases like fraud can lead to suspension at once.

Can I appeal?

Yes. Appeal from the notice or Account health. A different staff member reviews it.
