Handpicked badges: Recommended, Vetted Expert and Belancer Pro explained.

Handpicked is Belancer's family of badges for freelancers our team has checked. Recommended shows proven experience on other marketplaces, Vetted Expert shows tested professional skill, and Belancer Pro is earned from excellent work on Belancer. Clients can filter for Handpicked only, and Handpicked freelancers rank first in project recommendations. To apply, open the Handpicked program, pick a track and follow the stages.

Before you start

• Your profile strength must be 100%. See complete your profile.
• Your ID check must be approved. See ID check.
• For Recommended: access to your profile on another marketplace.

Steps

1Open the Handpicked program

Choose Handpicked from the menu, then the seller program page. You see the tracks and whether You can apply.

2Choose your track

• Recommended: you've done at least 10 jobs with a rating of 4.7 or more elsewhere.
• Vetted Expert: you're a strong professional, even without marketplace history.

Choose Apply for your track. If Belancer invited you, the invite works for 14 days.

3Fill in the application

Your name and skills come from your profile. Add years of experience, whether you've worked on other marketplaces and for how long, portfolio samples, links, certificates, why you want the badge and your availability. Accept the program terms.

4Recommended: Prove your marketplace account

Belancer gives you a short code to place in your other marketplace profile's bio. This proves the account is yours. We check your reviews and portfolio, then hold a 15-minute interview.

4Vetted Expert: Complete the tests

1. A short communication check.
2. A timed skill test of up to 90 minutes. Answers save automatically; if your connection drops, resume within the time left. Pass mark: 70%.
3. A live interview with an expert.
4. A paid test project due in 5 days. Belancer pays you ৳3,000; the work stays yours.
5. References or work verification.

5Track your application

The tracker shows each stage. Reviews usually finish within 7 days per stage.

What happens next

When approved, the badge appears on your profile and gig cards, and you get an email. If not approved, you see the reason and the date you can Reapply from.

Troubleshooting

• "Not eligible." Finish your profile to 100% and complete the ID check.
• The ownership code isn't found. Make sure it's saved in the public bio of the profile you named, then try again.
• My skill test was interrupted. Open it again and continue; the timer keeps the time you had left. Switching tabs is logged.
• My badge was paused. You'll see why. Pro comes back automatically when you're above the bar again.

Good to know

• Belancer Pro is invite-only and checked monthly: at least 50 completed orders, a 4.8 rating, 90% on time and no lost disputes in 12 months. It starts once there is enough order history on Belancer.
• Badges on cards: at most two badges show on a card.
• Consulting: any Handpicked badge shortens the consultant application. See offer consultations.

Tip: Clients trust badges because a real person checked the work. Keep your profile and portfolio up to date between re-reviews.

Note: Handpicked is separate from Managed projects. Applying for a badge doesn't sign you up for managed work.
