On this page

You only need one Belancer account. The same account can hire freelancers (the client side) and sell your own services (the freelancer side). What you pick at sign-up, I want to work or I want to hire, only decides which home page you see first. You can switch between them at any time.

Before you start

Steps

1Understand the client side

As a client you can:

  • Buy gigs (ready-made services with fixed packages).
  • Post projects and receive proposals.
  • Send custom offers, fund milestones and approve work.
  • Book consultations and request managed projects.
  • Hire as yourself or as a company you belong to.

Clients don't need the ID check and don't use credits. You pay only for the work you order, in your account currency.

2Understand the freelancer side

As a freelancer (seller) you can:

  • Publish gigs with Basic, Standard and Premium packages.
  • Send proposals to projects, using credits.
  • Send custom offers and deliver orders.
  • Join or open an agency, offer consultations and apply for Handpicked badges.
  • Withdraw your earnings to bKash, Nagad or a bank.

Selling is open only to Bangladeshi citizens living in Bangladesh. Before you can go live you must verify your phone, add at least one portfolio project and pass the ID check. See become a seller.

3Switch between client and freelancer

Open the account menu (your photo at the top right). Under Acting as you see your Personal account and any company or agency you belong to. On your home page you can also switch between Client and Freelancer views.

4Pick a company or agency identity if you have one

If you belong to a company, choose it in Acting as before you post or pay, so the invoice and history go to the company. See company roles and acting as.

What happens next

Your dashboard changes with the view you pick. The Freelancer home shows earnings, active orders, credits and profile strength. The Client home shows money held safely, spending, open projects and active orders.

Troubleshooting

  • "Selling isn't open for your account yet." Your account country is not Bangladesh, or you haven't completed the ID check. You can still hire.
  • I posted as myself but meant to post as my company. Switch Acting as to the company and post again. Personal and company money never mix.
  • I can't find my freelancer dashboard. Choose Become a seller in the account menu and finish the setup first.

Good to know

  • Your basic information is shared. Your name, photo, city, time zone and languages are entered once and used by both sides. You're never asked twice.
  • Money is kept apart by identity. What you earn as a freelancer and what you spend as a client or company are shown separately, so your reports stay clear.
  • Your public profile has two tabs when you both hire and sell: a freelancer section (about, skills, gigs, portfolio, reviews) and a client section (open projects, reviews from freelancers, verification ticks).
  • Companies and agencies are separate identities. A company is for hiring as a business; an agency is for selling as a team. You can belong to both, and you switch with Acting as.
  • Notifications follow the identity. When you switch, the bell and home page show only what belongs to that identity.

Note: Reviews are tagged by role. Reviews you get as a freelancer and as a client show on separate tabs of your public profile.

Important: You can't buy your own gig, hire your own agency or company, or send offers to yourself. Belancer blocks this on every screen.

Questions and answers

Do I need two accounts to hire and to sell?

No. One Belancer account does both. Your freelancer side and client side share the same login, Balance and security settings.

Can I change my goal after sign-up?

Yes. The goal you pick at sign-up only decides which home page you see first. Switch any time from the account menu.

Do clients need to verify their ID?

No. Clients never need the ID check. Only sellers verify their identity, because they receive payouts.

Can I hire myself or buy my own gig?

No. Belancer blocks buying your own gig, hiring your own agency or company, and sending offers to yourself.

Do clients pay with credits?

No. Credits are only for freelancers, for things like sending proposals. Clients pay for work in BDT or USD.
