When you work for clients outside Bangladesh, they pay in US dollars, and you earn in USD. Your USD sits on its own card in your Belancer Balance, never mixed with your taka. Converting USD to BDT is not open yet, and neither are USD withdrawals. Your dollars stay safe in your Balance until they open, and Belancer never converts them for you.

Before you start

  • A freelancer or agency account with earnings from a client who paid in USD.
  • Know the difference between Pending and Available. See your Belancer Balance.

Steps

1Open your Belancer Balance

From the account menu choose Belancer Balance. If you have USD, you see a USD card next to your BDT card, marked "Kept separate". It says "USD withdrawals are not open yet. Convert USD to BDT to withdraw."

2Check your Available and Pending USD

Available to withdraw is money that has finished its waiting period. Pending becomes Available 14 days after an order is completed. The card also shows money still secured for open orders and anything being paid out.

3Keep your USD until converting opens

There is no Convert to BDT button yet, so there is nothing to do for now. When converting opens, the button appears on the USD card and we tell you by email.

What happens next

When converting opens, you'll choose an amount of Available USD, see the rate, any fee and the exact BDT before you confirm, and confirm with a code sent to your phone. The BDT then lands in your Available BDT, ready to withdraw to bKash, Nagad or your bank. Your monthly statement shows each conversion.

Troubleshooting

  • The USD card tells me to convert, but there's no Convert button. Converting isn't open yet. Your USD is safe on the card.
  • My USD is Pending. It becomes Available on the date shown next to Pending ("Pending · next on …").
  • I need the money now. Only BDT can be withdrawn today. Your USD waits on its card until converting opens.

Good to know

  • No automatic conversions: Belancer never converts your money unless you choose to.
  • Each currency stays apart in your Balance, statements and certificates.
  • Agencies: only the agency owner will convert the agency's USD.

Note: Converting USD to BDT and USD withdrawals are coming soon. This guide will show the exact steps once they open.

Important: Belancer never asks you to send money or codes to "unlock" USD. Ignore anyone who offers to convert your Belancer USD for you.

Questions and answers

Can I convert USD to BDT now?

Not yet. Converting opens soon. Until then your USD stays in your Belancer Balance; nothing is lost and nothing converts by itself.

Can I withdraw USD?

Not yet. Withdrawals are in BDT only, to bKash, Nagad or a Bangladeshi bank. USD withdrawals open later.

Is my USD safe while I wait?

Yes. It's kept on its own USD card, never mixed with your taka, and your statement shows every line.

What rate will I get when converting opens?

The rate Belancer's Finance team sets. You'll see it, any fee and the exact BDT you get before you confirm.

Will there be limits?

Yes. Each conversion will be between $10 and $5,000, and up to $10,000 per day.

Can clients convert money?

No. Only freelancers and agency owners will convert their own Available USD. Clients always pay and get refunds in their account's currency.
