On this page

If your account is in Bangladesh, you pay in taka (BDT) through SSLCommerz, Bangladesh's payment gateway. At checkout, choose bKash, Nagad, Rocket or Debit or credit card, check the total and choose Pay. You finish on the SSLCommerz page with your wallet PIN or card details, then return to Belancer, where your money is held safely until you approve the work.

Before you start

  • Enough balance in your bKash, Nagad or Rocket wallet, or a card that allows online payments.
  • Your phone nearby for the wallet's verification code or PIN.
  • A verified phone number on Belancer (asked before your first order).

Steps

1Go to checkout

From a gig, offer or milestone, continue to Confirm and pay.

Checkout with BDT payment methods

2Choose who's paying

Under Paying as, choose Personal or your company.

3Choose your method

Under Payment method ("Charged in BDT, the currency of your account"), choose:

  • bKash, Nagad or Rocket: "Pay from your wallet on the SSLCommerz page".
  • Debit or credit card: Visa, Mastercard or Amex through SSLCommerz.

4Check the total and pay

Check the Order summary: price, any extras, any service fee (as its own line) and Total. Choose Pay. You see "Opening the payment page…".

5Finish on SSLCommerz

On the SSLCommerz page, follow your wallet or bank's steps: enter your wallet number, the code you receive, and your PIN, or your card details and the bank's one-time code.

6Return to Belancer

You come back to Belancer automatically. You may see Confirming your payment for a moment. When it's done, your order starts and you're asked for your requirements.

What happens next

You get a payment receipt by email and an invoice in Statements & invoices. Your money is held as Payment Secured. After your first successful payment, your client profile shows Payment verified.

Troubleshooting

  • "bKash payment wasn't completed." You cancelled, or the wallet timed out. No money was taken and your order is saved for 24 hours. Choose Try bKash again or Use another method.
  • "The payment was declined by your bank or wallet." Check your balance or card limits, or try another method.
  • "That method isn't open for your currency." Pick one of the BDT methods shown.
  • A method is missing. It may be under maintenance; another method is still available.
  • "Too many tries for this checkout." Start again from the gig or offer. Nothing was charged.
  • I closed the page during payment. Open Orders; if it still shows awaiting payment, pay again. You'll never be charged twice for the same checkout.

Good to know

  • Large amounts: for big payments, a bank transfer (NPSB or RTGS) may be easier. See pay by bank transfer.
  • Prices never convert: BDT accounts always see and pay BDT prices.
  • Gateway charges are covered by Belancer and never taken from the freelancer's share.

Important: Never send money to a freelancer's personal bKash or Nagad number. Payments outside Belancer aren't protected.

Tip: Keep the bKash or Nagad transaction ID from the SMS until you see the payment confirmed on Belancer.

Questions and answers

Which payment methods can I use in Bangladesh?

bKash, Nagad, Rocket and debit or credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) through SSLCommerz, plus bank transfer (NPSB or RTGS).

Why can't I pay with PayPal?

PayPal and Stripe are only for accounts outside Bangladesh. Accounts in Bangladesh pay in BDT through SSLCommerz or bank transfer.

Is there a fee for paying?

Any client service fee is shown as its own line at checkout before you pay (0% for BDT payments).

The payment failed but money left my bKash. What now?

If Belancer didn't confirm the payment, it's returned by the provider. Check your order; if it's still unpaid after a while, contact support with the transaction ID.

Does Belancer see my bKash PIN or card number?

No. You enter them on the SSLCommerz payment page, not on Belancer.
