How to report a profile, gig, project, message or review

In short. See something that breaks Belancer's rules? Report a profile, gig, project, message or review in a few taps. Reports are private; follow them in My reports. It takes 5 steps: Find the report button; Pick what's wrong; Add a note and screenshots (optional); Send; Block if you need to.

  • Everyone
On this page

If you see a profile, gig, project, message or review that breaks Belancer's rules (a scam, harassment, spam, copied work, fake reviews, a service that isn't allowed, or contact details being shared), you can report it. Every report is read by our Trust & Safety team. Your report is private: the person is never told who reported them.

Before you start

  • Sign in. Reporting needs an account.
  • If it's about work on an order (late, wrong, poor quality), use Report a problem on the order instead. See report a problem.
  • Take a screenshot if it helps show the issue.

Steps

1Find the report button

Look for the flag or menu on the item:

  • Report this profile
  • Report this gig
  • Report this project
  • Report this message (from the message menu)
  • Report this review
Report dialog with reasons

2Pick what's wrong

Under What's wrong? choose a reason. The list depends on the item. For a message, for example: scam or outside payment, harassment, spam, contact sharing, or other. For a gig: income promises, copied work, services not allowed or misleading prices.

3Add a note and screenshots (optional)

Under Anything else we should know? add a short note. Under Screenshots (optional) add up to 3 images or PDFs.

4Send

Choose Send report. You see "Thanks, our team will review it."

5Block if you need to

After reporting a person or message, you can also block them so they can't message you again.

What happens next

Reports on the same item are grouped, and scam and outside-payment reports get high priority. Our team may remove the item, ask the owner for changes, or give a strike. When it's reviewed, you're told in My reports: "Our team has reviewed it and took action where needed."

Troubleshooting

  • "You reported this on …" You've already reported it. Follow it in My reports.
  • "Pick a reason." A reason is required.
  • "This file is too large." Use a smaller screenshot.
  • "This file failed the virus check." Try another file.
  • I hit the daily limit. Try again tomorrow, or contact support for urgent safety issues.

Good to know

  • Evidence is kept: for messages, the message and the conversation around it are saved with the report, so deleting it doesn't remove the evidence.
  • False reports: reporting in bad faith over and over is noticed by staff.
  • Visitors see a sign-in prompt and are brought back after signing in.

Important: If you feel in danger, contact local emergency services first. Then report on Belancer.

Tip: Report the exact message or item, not just the profile. It helps the team act faster.

Questions and answers

Will the person know I reported them?

No. Only Belancer's Trust & Safety team sees your report. The person you report is never told who you are.

Do I need to sign in to report?

Yes. If you're signed out, you're asked to sign in first and then brought back to the same item.

How many reports can I send?

You can report each item once, and up to 20 reports a day.

Will I find out what happened?

Yes, in general words. Follow it under My reports. We don't share details of action taken against another person.

What's the difference between reporting a message and Report a problem on an order?

Report a message is for rule-breaking behaviour like scams or harassment. Report a problem on an order is for work that wasn't delivered or isn't right, and it freezes the order's money.

Does blocking cancel my order with that person?

No. Blocking stops new messages, but an open order carries on.
